So I lack regularity and therefore don't post as often as I should. Its been a few weeks so to sum up what has happened:
1. Orientation in Lorne- CRAZY! and fun. I believe the lack of sleep and large amounts of physical activity (boot camp on the beach, mountain biking, surfing, and hiking everywhere) was the onset of my current sickness. Some CEO of a company kept buying my group of friends drinks and by the end, he had opened up a few thousand dollar tab and it turned into an open bar for all. Goodness. Thank you Simon! Also, if they fed us another veggie sandwich I was going to lose it.
2. A l'il mall outting with a bunch of the internationals turns into Ed Hardy rockstar bowling. Then a trip to Young and Jacksons (fave bar thus far) and caught a bit of a short film festi happening in an outdoor park. Nice taste of some Aussie cultch
3. Bus tour of Melbourne-quite enjoyable. Went to the Eureka tower and overlooked the city. SO AMAZING! I didn't realize it was located right on the beach- beautiful and big; over 3 million peeps! Also hit the Melb Museum. Yeah, kinda what you would expect. Although it does have the world's 3rd largest IMAX screen and we are planning on going to see Alice in Wonderland on it tomorrow.. Gotta buy those tickets asap..
4. Then a night out on the town. A big group of us went together and we all slowly lost each other, but managed to make it home fine. Completely over the first bar but after a stop at Subway and another stop at Macca's (because Subway was highly unsatisfactory), and the hitting on of a group of boys, we found our way to Young and Jacksons yet again. I am a tool and proceeded to write three of the staff a note on a napkin. Nothing says classy like a "call me" on a napkin..
5.Then HEY! I'm 21! Go me. Everyone here was so so ready to wish me a happy birthday and were really concerned to make it a good one. This eventful day of mine (which was actually a series of three days because of O-week) happened to fall on one of the biggest parties put on by the Uni. It was a beach themed party. So FUN! Met some interesting people, and danced my night away with my homies.
6.Then another themed party after another themed party took place and they were not as exciting, potentially because of the fact that it was no longer my existence's biggest birthday.
7. Finally, there was the hazing of the first years that took place at 5:30 in the morning yest. Pretty sure I am older than all or most of the RA's that were our 'bully's'. Funny. But between running mult miles through the city in garbage bags and party hats, eating a pepper, ghosting and scaring people, being pelted with eggs and flour, and the incessant heat, I am a tired gurl.
Yes this was long, but I was forced to compress 2 weeks of the best time of my life!
