So, last night, as I was struggling to sleep between coughing outbursts, a robbery takes place in my unit. Not okay and scary as hell. I wake up again at about 4 am to all this loud movement downstairs and I just figure it's someone coming home drunk even though I can't figure out who it would be. As I was getting ready to go down to ask them if they had any cough medicine, I realize "hey, those kids don't live here AND they are stealing our stuff!!" I realized this when I looked out my window and saw one of our microwaves on the picnic bench with someones 4 pack on top of it. So between their trips back and forth (I could see because they were right below my window), I call campus security and they come about 5 minutes after the boys' last trip and then the "guard" makes a very 'I'm bothered to even come over here, there isn't anything here' type phone call. Then he bangs on the front door. I'm sorry, I am absolutely NOT going to answer that. Idiot. This is why I always lock my door. Yup. So security guard bounces and doesn't report anything because they think its a false alarm and don't take the time to actually look around. I dunno, maybe two microwaves missing, a DVD player missing, and THE HUGE WINDOW SCREEN on the ground might give you a clue. I understand that they didn't know we had microwaves or a dvd player (although in my opinion they should be somewhat familiar with their surroundings if they are indeed campus security) but obviously something had happened.
An upsetting idea is that they scratched up our new flatscreen! Stealing for money is one thing, vandalizing and to be a douche is another. Come on guys, stealing etiquette. AND I just found out they took my straightener! Blasted.
P.S. The 'Coppers' are funny and there is a detective here.

Profanity just lowers your succinct analysis of a poorly performing security organization. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYeah but it's funny for many reasons, namely that the Aussies say it AND it's true. I knew I could count on someone to comment on the word choice. I keep my FB PG, tired of censoring everything.
ReplyDeleteCensoring is overrated...
ReplyDeleteand ps i'm going to start adapting Australian sayings to the US. I'm adding "coppers" to the list! haha
